Allspice is the sun-dried unripe berry of the evergreen 'Pimento Diocia' plant. It has aromatic, warm and sweetly pungent taste like a combination of spices of cinnamon, cloves, ginger and nutmeg with peppery overtone.
Grind the allspice berries in a spice grinder. When ground, allspice berry is slightly bitter, earthy, and fruity.
Suggested Uses:
Allspice is a main flavor used in barbecue sauces, in pickling, spice blends & curry powders. Also used in pudding, sweets & desserts, hot drinks, stews & meat dishes, and as a baking spice in cakes, cookies, pies.
6 whole allspice berries = 1/4 to 1/2 tsp ground allspice.

Allspice can be boiled as an after-meal tea to ease digestion.
Stir 1/2-1tsp of Allspice in a cup of boiling water, steep 10-20 minutes, and drink up to 3 cups/day.
