MACE BLADES

AKA 'Javetri (India)
Mace blades are the most aromatic and delicate spice that grows as lacy coating (aril)
over the nutmeg (Jaifal) spice, the fruit seed of the evergreen nutmeg tree.
It has a sweet aromatic fragrance (sweeter than Nutmeg), warm and nutty taste. Mace
enhances the taste and add warm-spice flavor to Asian, Indian, and Middle Eastern
cuisines in baking, savory and sweet dishes.
Suggested Uses:
Mace is most common ingredient in Indian cuisines. Mostly used in creamy dishes.
Often used in spice blends for flavoring meat dishes, stews, curries and sauces. Also added
to flavor breads, cakes, desserts, pastries, and to make spiced tea or coffee.
Mace is recommended to be added at the end of the cooking process. Mace can be substituted for Nutmeg in small amount in any recipe. It's more commonly ground to a fine/rough powder.
