Madras turmeric is grown in Maharastra /Tamil Nadu, India and is traded mostly in Madras
district (hence it's name). It is most common Turmeric, has distinctive flavor, milder than
Alleppey turmeric, slightly aromatic & bitter taste. Ground madras turmeric has bright
yellow color with a Curcumin (the coloring agent) level of 3.5% and generally used for
it's unique characteristic color & flavor.
Suggested Uses: Madras turmeric is Widely used in Indian, Asian & Middle Eastern spice
blends, pickles, curry powder and pastes, or added to smoothies.
Turmeric is used to make several Ayurvedic remedies including Turmeric / Golden Tea.
