Ground roasted barley is prepared from barley, ancient whole-grains, lower in fat and calories, higher in dietary fiber. It is called "Besso" in Ethiopia and "Tsampa", a traditional staple for Tibetan food.
Roasted Barley Flour is mixed with honey and water to make the famous Ethiopian besso drink or can be used to prepare snacks. Also can be mixed with butter, chili pepper or honey for better flavor and taste.In Tibet, Tsampa is made from roasted barley flour, usually mixed with the salty Tibetan butter tea, dried dri / cheese and sugar.
