.Great northern beans are a flattened ‘large off white beans’, have a nutty, earthy flavor and tender flesh, and holds its shape when cooked.Great Northern beans are great in baked beans, soups, stews, casseroles, ragouts, dips, purees and can substitute any mild flavored beans.
Basic preparation: Wash, rinse & soak overnight. Add 4 Cups of water / Cup of Bean, bring to boil. Reduce heat and simmer covered for 60-90 minutes or until tender (add more water as needed). Whisk lightly to remove the floating foam while cooking.
Yield: 3 cups of cooked beans / Cup of dry beans
