Butterfly popcorn kernels pop up light and tender, large yellow butterfly-style popcorn, irregularly shaped with light, fragile "wings" protruding from all sides. Butterfly popcorn is the popcorn of choice for parties or sporting events, fall fairs, or carnivals.
Stove top popping directions: Preheat 3Tbsp oil in a deep pan, add 1/3 cup kernels. Put a lid, shake the pan, or stir the kernels, so that they do not burn. Cook for 2 1/2- 4 min or until the pops are 5 sec. apart.
Microwave directions: Mix 1/3 cup of popcorn with 1tbsp of oil., put in a brown paper bag. Fold top of the bag twice, shake and cook for 2 1/2 min or until the pops are 5 seconds apart.
