Besobela (Beso-Bela) is the sun dried flower buds & leaves of the wildly grown Ethiopia’s sacred Basil plant, has delicate taste & distinct aroma.
It adds dimension and a unique flavor to Ethiopean Berber spice blend, Spiced butter (Niter Kibbeh), Shiro ( stew), and other Ethiopean dishes. Also used as a marinade or rub and flavor sauces.
Sometimes toasted before being ground.
