Sodium Metabisulfite, also known as 'Sodium Pyrosulfite', pyrosulfurous acid-disodium salt.
Used as a food additive acts as preservative as a disinfectant and antioxidant. It inhibits the growth of fungi and bacteria, extend the shelf life of meat products, preserve fresh & dried fruits, vegetables to cracker and tortilla doughs.
Used as both a sterilizer and an antioxidant in the process of brewing beer or fermenting wine.
Use as food additive at 0.1% concentration of the total food volume.
