Often added to Asian special dishes. Prepared either by boiling or roasting.
For Boiling: In a small saucepan, add water enough to cover nuts by an inch above the nuts, add about 1tbsp of salt and bring to a boil. Boil about ten minutes and drain. Rinse under cold water. Crack the nuts, remove the shell and peel off the outer skin.
For Toasting: In a frying pan add 1tbsp oil, add the nuts and salt to taste, cook until the shells split, remove from heat, cool and remove the shell and outer skin.
