Baldo Rice
Baldo rice is a plump, milled, short-grain rice grown in Turkey. The grains are starchy and can absorb lots of moisture, makes it very creamy and tender, and keeps its shape well when cooked.
Baldo rice is a great choice for risotto, paella, and Turkish pilafs. Also cook as a plain rice, serve with your grilled meats, stewed dishes.
Cooking Instructions for plain rice:
- In a sauce pan add 4 cups of water/ Cup rice, 1 tsp sat (opt), 1 Tbsp butter (if desired).
- Bring to a soft boil, lower the heat, cover with lid and simmer for 15-20 minutes.
- Turn off the heat, let the rice steamed in the covered pot at least another 10 minutes or until the rice has absorbed the liquid.
- Fluff with fork and ready to serve.
One cup of rice will yield: 3 cups of cooked rice.
