Camargue (French Black) Rice is grown in Camargue, Southeastern France, is an un-milled whole grain rice. When cooked rice has a nutty flavor, natural chewy texture, and turns purple after cooking it.
Perfect for a colorful and delicious side dish, salads, soups, hearty pilafs and desserts.
Cooking Instructions for plain rice: 1. In a sauce pan add 2 1/2 cups of water or broth / 1 Cup rice, 1 tsp sat (opt), 1 Tbsp butter (if desired). 2. Bring to a soft boil, lower the heat, cover with lid and simmer for 30-40 minutes or until grains are tender. 3. Turn off the heat, let the rice steamed in the covered pot at least another 10 minutes or until the rice has absorbed the liquid. 4. Fluff with fork and ready to serve rice alone.
One cup of rice will yield: 3 cups of cooked rice.
