Camargue Rice
Camargue (French Red) Rice is grown in Camargue, Southeastern France, featuring a beautiful short grain, un-milled red rice with its hull intact. When cooked, rice has a nutty flavor, natural chewy but sticky texture.
Perfect for a colorful and delicious side dish, salads, soups, hearty pilafs and desserts.
Cooking Instructions for plain rice:
- In a sauce pan add 2 1/2 cups of water or broth / 1 Cup rice, 1 tsp sat (opt), 1 Tbsp butter (if desired).
- Bring to a soft boil, lower the heat, cover with lid and simmer for 30-40 minutes or until grains are tender.
- Turn off the heat, let the rice steamed in the covered pot at least another 10 minutes or until the rice has absorbed the liquid.
- Fluff with fork and ready to serve rice alone.
One cup of rice will yield: 3 cups of cooked rice.
