This unpolished short grain brown rice is germinated to increase levels of nutrient called GABA. When cooked, rice grain have a softer, less chewy texture and a sweet, mild, nutty flavor.
Sprouted brown rice (GABA) can be used alternative to regular brown rice for improved flavor & texture.
Cooking Instructions for plain rice:
- In a sauce pan add 3 cups of water or broth / 1 Cup rice, 1 tsp sat (opt).
- Bring to a boil, lower the heat, cover with lid and simmer for 30-40 minutes or until grains are tender.
- Turn off the heat, let the rice steamed in the covered pot at least another 10 minutes or until the rice has absorbed the liquid.
- Fluff with fork and ready to serve rice alone.
One cup of rice will yield: 3 cups of cooked rice.
