Jasmine broken rice is a quicker cooking, more absorbent rice than the usual jasmine rice. When cooked it have different consistency which is less firm and more "mushy".
It soaks up whatever sauce you have to put with it, and is best rice to make rice porridge called ‘congee’.
Cooking Instructions for plain rice: 1. In a sauce pan add a cups of water/ Cup of washed & rinsed rice, add a pinch of salt to taste (optional) 2. Stir lightly, bring to a rolling boil, lower the heat, cover with lid and simmer for 10 minutes or until rice is tender. 3. Turn off the heat, let the rice steamed in the covered pot at least another 3-5 minutes or until the rice has absorbed the liquid. 4. Fluff the rice with a fork and serve in plate, top with curry or else you like to eat with rice hot.
One cup of rice will yield: 2 1/2 cups of cooked rice.
