Wheat Berries, Hard Red
Hard Red Wheat Berries are harvested in winter, have light to dark reddish tan kernels,
after being hulled, their bran, endosperm and germ layers are left intact. When cooked,
these protein-rich (gluten) berries, has nuttya flavor and chewy texture. Can be tossed withvegetables, hearty salads or added to soups and stews.
Can also be cracked and added to breads for nutty flavor and hearty texture.
Cooking instruction: Add 1 cup of Berries to 4 cups of boiling water. Reduce heat and simmer covered for 60 min. or until tender. Drain excess liquid.
