Lotus Seeds, Black Kamal Kakdi Beej
Black Lotus seeds are harvested when the seed head of the lotus is ripe or nearly ripe, contain an enzyme with anti-ageing properties , helps in repairing damaged proteins , benefiting the spleen, kidney, and heart, improve appetites, alleviate restlessness, palpitations, insomnia and used to treat sexual conditions .
Lotus Seed Uses:
Lotus seeds (30g) are first soaked in warm water for 5 hours then boiled with water and brown sugar (30g) until the seeds become soft, then added to a cup of black tea just prior to serving to yield the medicinal properties. The seeds are also puffed /roasted for eating directly or used in kheer, pudding or boiled seeds are made into a paste for sauces and soups.
