Tricalcium Phosphate is a calcium salt of phosphoric acid, AKA Bone Phosphate of Lime (BPL), increases the calcium content of foods. It has a chalky texture, adds smoothness and opacity to reduced fat foods and beverages.
Used as an anti-caking & free-flowing agent in dry vinegar and salts, as an additive for milk powder, pudding, dairy products. Used to bleach flour to improve coloring.
It has the ability to take up to 10% of its weight in moisture.
Tricalcium phosphate is sometimes added to calcium supplements, used as a calcium source and as a nutrition enhancer.
