Portabella Mushrooms, Sliced
Portabella mushrooms are the fully matured form of champignon mushrooms and are very large, round, firm mushrooms with flat, open brown caps and blackish gills, and are sliced. These have reduced moisture content that create a dense, meaty texture and a more concentrated flavor.
To Reconstitute: Rinse and soak in boiling water for 10-12 min, drain and rinse. Or, rinse and add directly to any recipe that will cook for at least 25 minutes.
Excellent for grilling, roasting and broiling. Compliments steaks, chops, poultry, seafood and grilled vegetables. Excellent vegetarian substitute for meat in numerous dishes.
