A convenient dry spice blend for making a delicious and traditional ‘Indonesian / Bali style fried meat & rice’ dish. Nasi Goreng fried rice is actually a breakfast dish in Indonesia, often made from the left over boiled rice from the previous night's meal. ‘Sambal Paste’ can be prepared with this seasoning mix.
To make a sambal paste: Mix one measure of Nasi Goreng spice mix with an equal quantity of water. Add half a measure of oil and stir until blended.
To make Nasi Goreng Rice: Bring 100ml water to a boil, 2tbsp nasi goreng mix and soak for 10 min. Heat 2tbsp vegetable oil in a wok over a high heat, add 2 chicken breast cut into thin slices, cook till browned. Add the soaked Nasi goreng mix and 8oz cleaned prawn, stir well, cook for 4-5minutes, add 4oz cut string beans, 4 sliced spring onion and 1-2 cups cold cooked rice, stir and mix well (may add little water if needed). Season with ‘ketjap manis’ to taste and served with a lightly fired egg, some cucumber slices and prawn crakers on top of the rice. Ingredient: Chili, Garlic, Salt, Freeze-dried chili, Sugar, Amchur (mango), Galangal, Ginger.
