Southern Bay Seasoning is a popular seafood seasoning and is southern way of flavoring steamed, broiled or grilled shrimp, hard-shell crabs, craw- fish, lobsters and other tasty seafood. Often used as topping on popcorn, eggs, French fries, potato chips/ salads, fried chicken, crab or seafood salad.
Ingredients:
Sea Salt, Celery Seed, Paprika, Red pepper flakes, Ground Mustard, White Pepper, Bay Leaves, Cloves, Allspice, Ginger, Cardamom, Cinnamon, Nutmeg.
Recipe to make steamed shrimp: Season 1pound large shrimp (peeled and deveined, leaving tails on) with 2-3tbsp Southern Bay Seasoning and put them in a steamer basket. In a large pot, bring water to a boil and place on the basket on the top of the pot (Water not touching the shrimp). Steam until the shrimp turn pink. Enjoy the steamed shrimp served with a dipping sauce.
