Black Quinoa
This naturally dark colored Quinoa is a quick-cooking, grain-like seed with a mild, delicate
nutty flavor. When cooked, has a fluffy texture, light crunch and a pleasant bite. It has a slightly earthier and sweeter flavor than white.
Used as a great quick-cooking side dish, substitute for rice, couscous or bulgur, makes delicious cold salads, gives body and texture to soups and stuffing or makes a hearty cereal.
Cooking Instruction: Bring 2 cups water a boil. Add 1 cup quinoa, reduce heat to low and simmer for 15 minutes. Drain excess water, cool and use immediately.
One cup of dried quinoa yields about 3 cups cooked.
