This whole indian black rock salt is brownish
pink to dark violet stone obtained from
halite from mines in Northern India and Pakistan
in Himalayas salt ranges. Consists primarily of
Sodium Chloride which gives salty taste, Iron
sulphate provides its dark violet hue and sodium
sulphate and traces of hydrogen sulphide gives
its bitter taste as well as a highly distinctive smell.
Black Salt is a salty and pungent smelling
condiment, is added to chaats, chutneys,
raitas and many other savory Indian snacks.
