Masoor dals are skinned & split Indian Brown Lentils (whole masoor), have the third-highest level of protein (26%), commonly used in Indian cuisine to prepare classic Indian nutritious soup dish. When cooked masoor dal turns to soft golden color and a pleasant earthy flavor.
Cooking Instruction: Wash, rinse, soak lightly & drain. Add 3 cups of water/ cup of dal, bring to boil. Lower the heat, simmer 15-20 minutes or until tender & soft (add more water as needed). Whisk lightly, remove the floating foam. Flavor with butter or oil, salt to taste and dal masala seasoning if desired. Cook uncovered over low heat until desired consistency. Serve warm with steamed basmati rice and choice of any veggie.
