Spelt is an ancient species of wheat grain, a cross between wheat and barley. When cooked, has sweet, nutty, wheat-like flavor and chewy texture.
Spelt can be eaten in salads, soups, stews, curries or sides, or ground into flour and substituted for wheat flour in breads, pastas, cookies and other baked goods
Cooking Instruction: Add 1 cup Organic Spelt to 3 cups water. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat, cover and simmer for 40-50 minutes or until grains are chewy. Drain off any excess water.
