Yellow Curry Powder
Thai Yellow curry powder is the Thai version of Indian yellow curry, creates a mild yet flavorful Thai curry with a sweet and mellow flavor, and distinct Thai taste. It gives the bright yellow color as it contains a high amount of turmeric. Mostly used in Thai cuisines for light meats like poultry, seafood and vegetarian dishes.
Turmeric, Cumin, Coriander, Galangal, White Pepper, Chili Powder, Mustard Powder, Fennel. Lemon Grass, Fenugreek, Cloves, Kaffir Lime Leaf.
Simple Recipe for Thai yellow Chicken Curry:
Mix Shrimp Paste with Curry powder (1tsp shrimp paste for each1tbsp curry powder) and enough water or fish sauce, and make a paste like consistency.
Stir fry 4tbsp this prepared Curry Paste in 1tbsp oil, add 1 cup coconut milk, mix and bring to boil. Add 1lb meat (cut in pieces), stir and add 1 more cup of coconut milk, bring to boil. Add 1 cup vegetables of your choice, stir and cook until meat are soft and tender. Add 1/2tsp brown sugar and salt to taste. Garnish with chopped fresh Thai basil and serve.
