Grape Sugar Sweetener
Dextrose is the monohydrate form of D-glucose, derived from pure grape juice concentrate. It is about 30% less sweet than table sugar(sucrose).
Dextrose is often used in foods as a sweetener in baked goods, dairy products and confectionery. Used in caramelization process to create brown color in baking, used in fermentation of beer or wine, to preserve packaged foods and extend their shelf life, inhabits crystallization in icecream or sorbets.
Dextrose has a high glycemic index, and is a good source of energy.
