Kirmizi Biber is a Red Hot Pepper grown in Turkey. Peppers are ripened to deep red color in the plant, then semi-dried and rubbed with olive oil and gently roasted until giving it unique fruity, smoky sweet-hot flavor, and coarsely ground to fine flakes.
It is one of the most popular pepper in Turkish cooking, similar to Cayenne pepper. It's unique smoky sweetness will enhance any dish. Its flavor will remind you of Middle Eastern-style salads, soups, grilled meat (kebabs, steaks, kofte), dips (hummus, baba ganoush, tzatziki) or other dishes.
