Rye Berries, Organic
Rye Berry is an ancient grain with its hull removed. They have a firm, chewy texture and
a mild, walnut-like flavor. Rye Berries are high in amino acids and B Vitamins and are very rich in fiber.
Perfect for fresh-milled rye into your baking. By steaming, then rolling and drying made into rye flakes, are commonly eaten in hot breakfast cereal. Rye berries are cooked and eaten whole in salads, grain bowls and soup. It can substitute wheat and rice in salads.
To Cook: Add 1 cup Rye Berries to 4 cups boiling water. Bring to a rolling boil, reduce heat, cover and simmer for one hour, or until tender. Strain off excess liquid.
