‘Tsire’ West African spice Mix
Tsire Spice Mix is a spicy-sweet, spicy, warm and aromatic blend of roasted nuts and
seeds used in west African cuisine.
Mostly used to enhance the flavor of raw meat kebabs, fish or vegetables that are dusted with the Tsire Spice Mix before grilling.
Can be sprinkled on cooked dishes, cooked meats, salads, soups or stews to enhance
the taste. Also excellent to create exotic African sauces.
Ingredients:
Ground Roasted & Salted Peanut, Red Chili, Ginger, Nutmeg, Cloves, Cinnamon.
Recipe to make Lamb meatballs:
In a large bowl mix 2lb minced lamb with1 finely minced onion, 2 pcs chopped garlic cloves, 4tbsp plain yoghurt and 1-2 finely chopped green chili. Form into evenly sized balls or kababs. Dip each in the beaten egg and then coat with ‘Tsire Spice Mix’ (Use approximately 1tbsp spice mix/1lb meat). Cook them on the grill until done and sprinkle with a little bit of the spice mix before serving.
