Sorbitol Powder

Sorbitol is sugar alcohol (polypol), obtained from corn starch. It is 60% as sweet and has very low calorific value and a low Glycaemic index.
Sorbitol is used to preserve moisture, add sweetness, and provide texture to products in pastries, chocolate, sugar-free candies, chocolates, chewing gum. Use as a stabilizer in biscuits and pastry applications. It increases shelf life and works well with gelling agents and fats. Sorbitol will not brown or caramelize like sucrose.
Used as a laxative to relieve constipation.
