Spice Mix
This spice blend is a perfect spice blend for fall baking, especially for the universally popular Apple Pie. It is also add a little bit of warmth and depth of flavor to any dessert, crisps, oatmeal, muffins, and cakes.
Combine it with powdered sugar for sprinkling over the French toast before serving
Suggested Uses:
For Apple pie (9 inch): Use 1-2 tsp; For muffins: use 1/2 tsp. per Cup of batter; For sugar cookies: add 1-2 tsp. per batch; For waffle or pancake batter: 1/4 tsp. per Cup.
Ingredients:
Cinnamon, Nutmeg, Allspice, Cloves.
Basic apple pie recipe
Heat oven to 425 degrees. Mix 1 cup sugar, 4tbsp flour, 1 1/2tsp apple pie spice mix, 1/4tsp salt in large bowl. Mix in 8 cups thinly sliced peeled semi tart apples, 1 can (8oz) drained pineapple chunks and ¼ cup pecans, pour well coated apple mix into a pastry lined 9 inch pie plate, drizzle with 2tbsp melted butter. Cover with top crust, crimping the edges and make few slits on the top crust, cover with foil, bake for 25-35 minutes, remove the foil, bake for another 15 minutes or until the crust is brown. Serve hot.
