Tukmaria are the tiny black seeds of the sweet basil plant- very mild in flavor with no distinct taste. Well known as a powerhouse of nutrition and packed with immunity-boosting properties.
Usually added to a variety of dishes and drinks to enhance flavors and texture.
Tukmaria seeds are used as an alternative to Chia seeds for similar health benefits.
Suggested Uses:
General Ratio for soaking basil seeds: Use 2tsp Tukmaria seeds for each 8 oz.
warm water; soak for 20- 30 minutes or until seeds are swollen, become translucent and develop a gelatin-like coating. Strain and add to drinks, sherbets, milkshakes, desserts, ice creams, kulfi,falooda, etc.
