Whole Wheat berries, are whole grain white wheat kernels without outer shell but includes the germ, bran and endosperm. When cooked, it has a sweet, nutty taste and a delightful tender to bite texture, full of vitamins and fiber.
Use cooked wheat berries in salads, soups, meat loaves, or ground into flour for light colored breads or pizza crust with added texture.
Cooking Instruction: Wash, rinse, soak overnight and drain. Add 1 ½ cup water/ cup of wheat berries, bring to boil. Reduce heat to medium; cover and simmer 35-45 minutes or until tender. Turn off the heat, let steam covered for another 15 minutes. Drain excess liquid.
