Amchoor powder is peeled and sun-dried ground Indian raw, sour green mango. Mostly used as a souring agent, it gives a tangy, tart, slightly sour taste with tropical fruity aroma.
Used in Indian dishes including stews, soups, sauces, fruit salads, curries, chutneys, pickles, snacks and Dal. Usually added in the food a couple of minutes before taking it off the heat. Can be used instead of Lemon juice. One tsp of Amchur powder for 3 tablespoons of lemon juice.
It is an excellent source of Beta-carotene, high Vitamin A and Vitamin C, antioxidants, minerals. It combats acidity and improves digestion.
