This premium & aromatic white long grain Basmati Rice grown in the fertile soil of Himalayan foothills of Dehradun, India.
Widely used for its longer and slender, non-sticky and softer texture. Gives a wonderful
fragrant aroma and nutty-sweet, delicious flavor.
Used generously in Indian, Middle Eastern, and Persian cuisines, and ideal for flavorful pulao or pilafs, Shirin polo & Chelo rice dishes, or just fluffy plain rice serving with curries, stews, and roasted meats or for making fried rice.
Basmati Rice has medium glycemic index (between-56 and 69), suitable for diabetics.
Cooking Instructions for plain rice:
1. In a saucepan add 1 ½ cup (2 Cups if aged rice) of water/Cup of washed & rinsed rice, add 1 tsp salt (optional)
2. Stir lightly, bring to a rolling boil, lower the heat, cover with lid and simmer for 15 minutes.
3. Turn off the heat, let the rice steamed in the covered pot at least another 5 minutes or until the rice has absorbed the liquid.
4. Drizzle a little butter or ghee into the rice (optional), fluff therice with a fork and serve hot.
1 Cup of Rice will yield: 2 ½ cup of cooked rice.
