BHT is a lab-made crystalline powder, used as an antioxidant food preservative.
It prevents fats and oils in foods from oxidizing and becoming rancid. It stabilizes fats, retain food smell, color and flavor, and extend the shelf life.
It also acts as a defoaming agent for yeast.
Recommended Usage Rate: 0.01- 0.1%; not to exceed 0.02% of food or oil.
Precaution: Keep container closed. Use with adequate ventilation. Avoid breathing dust
