Long Grain

Long grain brown rice is a natural whole grain rice with outer hull removed, leaving the nutrient-packed bran and germ. It is very healthful rice with nuttier flavor and a chewier texture.

When cooked, produces fluffy and firm grains, suitable for pilafs, salads and stir-fry dishes.

Cooking Instructions for plain rice:

  1. In a sauce pan add 2 cups of water or broth / Cup rice, 1/4tsp salt (to taste), 1Tbsp butter (if desired).

  2. Bring to a soft boil, lower the heat, cover with lid and simmer for 45 minutes.

  3. Turn off the heat, let the rice steamed in the covered pot at least another 10 minutes or until the rice has absorbed the liquid.

  4. Fluff with fork and ready to serve rice alone.

One cup of rice will yield: 3 cups of cooked rice.
