Roasted Buckwheat Grouts
These small, angular hulled & roasted seeds of the buckwheat plant, has more intense, nutty and toasty flavor than raw buckwheat groats. Used to make a staple dish, a type of porridge,
called “ Kasha”, serve with pasta or used as filling for knishes and blintzes. Roasted grouts
can be also be used in pilafs, stuffings or hot cereals, salads, or soups for added crunch.
Cooking Instruction: Wash and rinse I cup, add 1 ¾ cups water 1Tbsp butter, salt to taste, bring to boil. Lower the heat, cover and cook for 18-20 min. or until it has a firm texture and a slightly gummy consistency. Fluff with a fork and serve
