(Arroz de Calasparra)

Calasparra Rice, centuries-old medium short grain rice, native to the region of Murcia, Spain. This is a premium rice, used for making authentic ‘paella’.

This rice grains matures very slowly, produces dehydrated grain when harvested. When cooked, retain its shape & soak up the full flavor.

Cooking instructions for plain rice:

  1. In a sauce pan add 4 cups of water or broth / 1 Cup rice, 1 tsp sat (opt), 1 Tbsp butter (if desired).

  2. Bring to a soft boil, lower the heat, cover with lid and simmer for 25-30 minutes.

  3. Turn off the heat, let the rice steamed in the covered pot at least another 10 minutes or until the rice has absorbed the liquid.

  4. Fluff with fork and ready to serve rice alone.


One cup of rice will yield: 3 cups of cooked rice.
