Calcium Chloride (CaCl2), USP Food Grade

Calcium chloride is the chloride salt of calcium. Used as a food additive to improve the quality and stability of foods. Calcium Chloride holds the firmness in canning vegetables and pickling, without increasing sodium content.

Used in cheese, tofu, and sports drinks an anti-caking agent, stabilizer, and thickener. Used to set Sodium Alginate solutions in the Spherification process resulting in spheres that gel on the outside and remain liquid in the center.
