Also known as Decorticated Cardamom, Elaichi Dana, Budhur al- hayl (هيل)
Cardamom seeds are the clumps of hard, crunchy black seeds (8 to 16 seeds/ pod) inside the green outer shell of green cardamom pods. It has all the intense, warm aromatic spicy-sweet fragrance of cardamom and delicate citrus flavor. Can be enjoyed both whole, crushed or ground.
USES:
To grind: Sun dry the seeds and grind in high speed for 1-2 minutes or until powdered. Works well in both desserts and savory dishes.
Commonly Used in Indian, Persian, Turkish, Arab and African cuisines in meat, curry, rice & sweet dishes, pastries, cookies & other dishes. Also used to flavour tea, coffee, breads and other baked goods.
