Charoli / Chironji are tiny stubby nuts inside the hard seed shell of Buchanania lanzan tree, cultivated across India. It has sweet & nutty taste similar to Almond. Can be used raw and is often eaten as a nut or toasted before use for a more intense flavor.
Used in Indian cooking as toppings for sweets, usually in kheers, payasams and kulfis, or to garnish for halwa, cakes and cream sauces. The seeds are crushed and powdered to prepare thick sauce.
Used in Ayurveda to help reduce fatigue and increases physical stamina.
