Tikka Masala
(Butter Chicken)
Seasoning Mix
This super delicious rich and hearty ‘Tikka Masala’ seasoning mix is used to prepare ‘Chicken Tikka Masala’, an extremely popular Indian dish of roasted or grilled chunks of chicken in a red creamy, lightly spice tomato based sauce with intoxicating aroma. This seasoning mix also can be used to prepare lamb, fish or paneer masala dish.
Ingredients:
Paprika, Coriander, Red Pepper, Cardamom, Onion, Garlic, Cumin, Black Pepper, Ginger, Mace, Fenugreek Leaves.
Simple recipe for “Chicken Tikka Masala”:
Step 1:Marinade 2-3lbs of cubed boneless chicken with 1tbsp ‘chicken tikka masala’, 2tbsp ginger & garlic paste,1tbsp lemon juice, 1tbsp salt & 1 cup yogurt, keep aside for 1-2 hours.
Step 2:Heat 3-4tbsp oil in a heavy sauce pan, fry ½ cup diced onion till brown, add 1 ½ cup diced tomatoes, 1tbsp ‘chicken tikka masala’, stir,(add little water if needed), simmer for 10 min, then add marinated chicken cubes, 1 cup heavy cream, 1-2tbsp ground almond or cashew nuts (opt), stir, add salt to taste, and cook on low heat (15-20 min) until sauce thickens & meat is tender, garnish with 1tbsp chopped cilantro, and sliced lemon & serve hot
