Cloves are dried immature flower buds of the evergreen clove tree. These tiny spike shaped
reddish-brown buds have a strong, pungent and spicy odor. The taste is intense hot &
sweet and highly aromatic with a bitter, astringent flavor.
It can easily overpower the other flavors in a dish, but gives a pleasant addition to a dish
if used them in moderation.

Cloves are used as a spice for both sweet and savory dishes, and pastries. It brings sweet and earthy taste to cookies, cakes, hot beverages, desserts and spicy warmth to stews and meats, soups, sauces and rice dishes.
