INDIAN
ROASTED
CUMIN SEED
(Cuminum cyminum)
Also known as 'Bhuna Jeera, Roasted Kamoun'
Roasted Cumin seeds are the dried & roasted fruit/seed of an annual flowering plant in
parsley family. During toasting, cumin seed loses some bitter pungency and enhance more earthy and warming aromas, resulting in a pleasing,
well-balanced flavor.
Grinding the seeds in a mortar & pestle or coffee mill, will release their fragrance and bring out even more flavor to better season your dish.
Suggested Uses:
The earthy, rich, slightly smoky flavor of toasted cumin seeds is great sprinkled on
stews, soups and salads, to add a tiny bit of crunch. Grind the seeds, and use instead of
ground cumin to bring out the fragrance and add much better flavor to variety of dishes
Health Benefits:
Cumin seeds have a high concentration of the essential oil cuminaldehyde, that stimulates the production of pancreatic enzymes and help digestion, treats stomach upset and flatulence.
