Sugarcane molasses in higher ratio (6.5 %) is added to fine granulated refined cane sugar to produce Dark Brown sugar. It has a rich, full-bodied deeper sweet molasses (dark caramel) flavor, in addition to the natural sweetness of crystalline sucrose.

It's also excellent for caramelizing as it cooks, adding sweet and even spiced notes, darker color and richer flavor. Baked goods made with dark brown sugar end up moister, heavier, and chewier texture.
