Also known as ‘Lucknowi Saunf'
Lucknowi Fennel Seeds are a special type of olive green fennel seed, grown in Lucknow
the capital city of Uttar Pradesh, India. Prized for its particular sweetness and aroma. Seeds are much smaller and thinner, superior in flavor than regular fennel seed.
Has a Sweet anise flavor with licorice overtone and a very grassy taste.
Suggested Uses:
Lucknow Fennel seed’s sweet flavor is a common practice to use for pastries, yogurts,
honey, fruits, young cheeses, or salads. Grind it with some sugar and make sugar
cookies with them.
Health Benefits:
Often toasted or raw, chewed upon after a rich meal to aid in digestion, and act as
breath freshener.
They also can be used as a tea for Enhancing Appetite.
To make tea: Boil 2 cups of water, add 1 tsp coarsely crushed fennel seed to boiling
water. Cover, steep for 5-10 minutes. Strain, add 1/2 tsp of honey. Cool it before drinking 2-3 cups per day.
