Green split peas are de-hulled & split green peas, low in fat and high in protein and fiber. When cooked, have mild earthy flavor and soft texture, commonly used to make soup or puréed and added with your favorite herbs and spices and serve as a side dish.
Basic preparation: Wash, rinse & soak overnight. Add 4 Cups of water / Cup of Bean, bring to boil. Reduce heat and simmer covered for 60-90 minutes or until desired tenderness (add more water as needed). Then cook uncovered over low heat until desired consistency.
