Tragacanth Tragacanth also known as ‘Shiraz gum, is a natural dried sap obtained from the roots & stems of genus Astragalus. Used for thickening and stabilizing cosmetic. In foods, tragacanth is important for stabilizing and thickening ingredients in salad dressings, foods, and beverages.
To use in food: add to water at a 2 – 4 % concentration to make a soft adhesive paste.
It is mostly consumed as a beverage for cooling you down during hot summers.
