Hoja Santa (Hierba Santa), Leaf

Also known as ‘Mexican Pepper leaf’, has aromatic flavor with a hint of eucalyptus and a whisper of mint. It has a root beer like fragrance when crushed.

Used extensively in the cooking of Mexico, particularly in soups, salsas, stews, eggs and tamales. The leaves can be fried and use as a garnish for any entree, especially fish or vegetables.
